The Inter-Counties (CAU) Cross-Country Championships will be held at Prestwold Hall, Loughborough, LE12 5SQ, which is the same venue as last year Saturday March 9th. A precise timetable will be published but it is unlikely to be different from last year (see CAU website).
Squads of 12 (15 for Seniors) will be entered by the end of January. If you have indicated that you are available and have not been told otherwise, you are in the squad!
Teams of 8 (9 for seniors) will then be selected. Athletes finishing 1st-5th inclusive in the Worcestershire Championships January 5th are guaranteed a place. Other boys’ and men’s team places will be selected by Sunday February 10th and notified that week. Rita Brownlea is the girls’ and women’s team manager and will select the teams a little later. Generally, though the higher you were placed in the championships, the more likely you will be in the team. Results (especially in 2019) from the West Midlands Young Athletes’ League, Midland Women’s League, Birmingham League and Midland Counties’ Championships will be taken into consideration. Please let me know of any other notable 2019 performances.
